I’m a liberal, and a humanist but deeply studied in sociology. I think it is important to use the language they use to understand them. They see class, gender, race, and other issues similarly to how I feel feminist see it but as an issue they face alone. They miss that women are also forced to operate in that same society. To me if your politics, coalition or world view isn’t inclusive it doesn’t work and feminism fails to be inclusive. It has historically struggled with women of color like Shirley Chisholm, Dolores Huerta, Fanny Lou Hamer, and so on. The latest push to be intersectional is an acknowledgment it has historically struggled to be inclusive but some people are not seeing that. It is very similar to how I see BLM and other movements you have to be able to expand and adopt universal principles income inequality causes most of the issues we see in human flourishing and limiting of choices. A more just redistributed society should be the focus of all movements.
